Civil Service Live, between 5-7 July 2011 at Olympia, is the official annual conference for the civil service and brings together more than 6,000 central government leaders and future leaders from across all government departments, agencies and non-departmental public bodies and the wider public sector. Now in its fourth year the focus of this years’ event is designed to address the following issues:
· Efficiencies
· Public Service Modernisation
· Stimulating Growth
· Employee Engagement and Change Management
On Tuesday 5 July, Detica and Agilisys are jointly presenting 'Better, faster, cheaper: delivering next generation public services' in one of the Public Service Modernisation sessions.
Delivering fast, efficient, low cost customer services is a significant challenge – especially in a climate where money is tight and customer expectations are growing.
As Government redraws the line between what is core and non-core business, there is an opportunity to work with market leaders in technology and business process services to design and deliver better, faster and cheaper public services.
The Detica and Agilisys session will stimulate a practical, interactive discussion exploring real life examples of next generation service provision and the outcome based benefits it delivers. It will present and discuss:
· How to establish the right risk-reward measures to ensure your supplier partners are delivering the outcomes you and your customers expect;
· How intelligent analysis can be used to design and transform customer-centric services to all your stakeholders;
· The lessons learnt in keeping momentum going and driving continuous improvement in service delivery.
The speakers are Charles Mindenhall, Co-Founder and Chairman, Agilisys and Martin Sutherland, Managing Director, BAE Systems Detica. The discussion will be chaired by Jane Platt, CEO of NS&I and the panel includes Ian Watmore, Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Office, and COO, Efficiency and Reform Group and Cllr Stephen Greenhalgh, Leader, Hammersmith and Fulham Council.
Civil Service Live is directed by Sir Gus O’Donnell the Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service and Permanent Secretaries from across government.
"We need civil servants to be innovative and to collaborate with each other and with partners in other sectors to meet the challenges they face. [...] we must find new ways of delivering services, and work with the private, wider public and third sectors to develop and deliver policies that make a positive difference for everyone in our society. Civil Service Live in July will give civil servants ideas and tools for achieving all this."
Sir Gus O’Donnell, Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service
