Applications are accepted throughout the year.

  • What courses should I study to be considered for a career with BAE Systems Detica?

  • What grades will I need?

You are to expect, or will already have, a minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) and As and Bs at A level (or equivalent - triple distinction) to the total of 320 UCAS points. Please note this does not include AS levels and is based on calculation of A Levels only.

For Scottish Highers we look for candidates to have 3 or more advanced highers.

  • If I have relevant work experience, will I still be considered for a graduate position?

If you have more than 18 months' relevant full-time work experience, outside of a sandwich or placement year at university, we will consider your background and experience against our roles and redirect your application accordingly.

  • What is the application process?

You can apply online; all you have to do is answer a few short questions and upload your CV with a short covering letter. After reviewing your details, if you're successful we'll contact you, by email, to arrange your first interview.

We hold a rigorous two-stage interview process. The first stage is an interview to run through your CV and competencies. We will also give you an unseen case study to test your logical thinking. This interview will either by phone or face-to-face, depending on the role you've applied for.

The second stage is a one and a half hour, face-to-face interview, during which you will be asked to give a presentation on a technical topic (typically a University project or relevant work experience) and answer questions on your technical and business knowledge.

  • I am not a British Citizen or permanent resident in the UK. Can I still apply to your Graduate programme?

Only those with the permanent and unrestricted right to live and work in the UK will be considered for a position at BAE Systems Detica. This is due to the nature of the work we do and the fact that Security Clearence is required to work on our projects.

  • Can I apply for more than role on your Graduate programme? Can I apply to join your Graduate programme more than once?

You can apply for more than one role at a time. In order to find the best fit for you in the business we may at times talk to you about reassigning your application to a different role you applied to.

You can re-apply twelve months after your initial application.

  • Can I change job roles after I have started?

There may be opportunity to change jobs, dependent on your skills, performance, and demand for people with your background to fill that particular job.

  • What is career progression like at Detica?

Career progression is based on merit and performance. New graduates join the company as Consultants. Typically you can expect to be at Consultant grade for around 24 months, dependent on performance. The next stage will be promotion to Senior Consultant.
